We fabricated the steel structure for the displays of this Soho store that offers work wear inspired apparel. Continuing the shops theme the displays feature industrial elements like structural I beams and exposed tracks.
We were approached by the store owner, who wanted moving shelves and display panels that could roll from one end of the store to the other. because of the age of the building the track had to be posted off the floor and a light gauge I beam that was blackened steel. was used for the track. The shelves consisted of reclaimed long leaf yellow pine, glass. The coating hangers were a simple tube bar. Metal panels were used for the flat display. Graphics were adhered to panels magnetically.
The challenge with this project was to design the hanging elements in a stable way due to the fact everything was suspended.
